ABOUT THE JOB: 

This position is located in the Community Programs Branch, Recreation Division, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department at Naval Support Activity Bahrain. The incumbent is responsible for oversight and hands-on operation of varied and extensive entertainment programs that include but not limited to: AFE/USO/Navy Entertainment, Navy Motion Picture/Movies, community programs and special events at all/any MWR venue facilities including the AOR, as appropriate. The incumbent plans, organizes and administers three segments of an enhanced recreation program for a medium sized base, specifically: The Navy Motion Picture Program (Movie Theater), the special events program, and the Entertainment program. The incumbent plans, organizes, and coordinates the day-to-day and continuing operations of the sound, light, video, and music systems in support of the Armed Forces Entertainment (AFE), United Services Organization (USO), Navy Entertainment and/or NSA MWR Community Programs and special events. He/she is responsible for ensuring all equipment is in good working order, accountable for all sound, light, and video equipment inventory provided by the MWR Department. The incumbent assists with the coordinates logistics, transportation and support as they relate to AFE, USO, Navy Entertainment and NSA MWR programs, available to assist and support movement of various groups throughout the area of responsibility to include Isa Air Base and ships at sea, determines and coordinates MWR assets to facilitate and accomplish assigned tasks, such as operation of MWR vehicle(s); loading and unloading cargo/equipment; operation of a forklift; licensing and certification requirements; marketing and media sources application. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance of Navy Motion Picture movie projector and all equipment associated. Assures that all equipment is inventoried and maintains good working order. He/she assists with arranging for necessary supplies, transportation, space and services to accomplish scheduled special events, accounting for funds, equipment, supplies, etc., and promoting the safety of participants. The incumbent must adhere to proper and good fire, safety, sanitation, and environmental practice and procedures are advanced applied and incorporated into the work plan, flow and execution. 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

BG-08: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess one (01) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least BG-07 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector; one (1) year of specialized experience that Page 2 of 4 U. S. DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY 

equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, as stated below: 

- Knowledge of high-tech audio and video equipment and other technical processes 

- Ability to identify program deficiencies 

- Ability to properly use electronic equipment 

- Skill and knowledge in sound and lighting

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

- Position may require irregular working hours when special events occur. 

- Applicant must be 18 years of age at the time of application.
