ABOUT THE JOB:
This position is located with the Navy Exchange Bahrain. The incumbent in this position performs full range of duties associated with payroll function involving the computation of salary and wages, and the verification of payroll records for employees. Audits time cards submitted by the various department managers and computes the number of hours worked by each employee. Enters new hires data with their appropriate payroll deductions including savings bonds, union dues, charity contributions and other pertinent data provided by Human Resources Department. Prepares casual and advance payroll payments. Keeps employee payroll records files, including changes in payroll status, Employment Earnings Records, Absence and Over-time Authorization slips. Computes bi-weekly taxes and makes appropriate deposits; prepares quarterly and annual tax returns, as well as annual statements of earnings, and deductions. Maintains log on commission payments to employees such as Barbers and Beauticians. Contacts various managers for receipt of time cards, missing documentation, discrepancies or another problems which may affect the payroll functions. Responsible for the security of blank pre-numbered checks; in this connection maintains number control of such items.

BG-06: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: One (1) year progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. OR EDUCATION: Two (2) years above high school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Applicant must be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently.
Incumbent is required to intermediate math skills with some cash handling experience.
Must possess strong organizational and record keeping skills.
