ABOUT THE JOB 

This position serves in the Food and Beverage Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Support Activity, Bahrain. The incumbent is responsible for managing MWR food and beverage facilities for approximately 3000 permanent military personnel and their dependents, as well as over 135,000 transient military personnel annually. The incumbent of this position directs day-to-day operations of the Desert Dome All-Hands Clubs, includes the Desert Dome Food Court, with Main Bar and Patio Bar, Chief Petty Officers Lounge, The Dunes Officers Club. The Club Manager also Supervises/oversees the operation of the Java Coast Coffee Cart, Manama Mama’s Mobile Canteen and the AV/Unit Cafeteria, as well as assisting with Special Events, Catering and other activities under the guidance of the Food and Beverage Manager. The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the on-site and operational management of the established programs utilization of related facilities and other resources. The Club Manager assists the Food & Beverage Manager in planning, organizing coordinating and administering the day-to-day and continuing operations of MWR food and beverage operations, to include purchasing, staffing, and material requests. Assists the Food & Beverage Manager with evaluating management, operating costs, item pricing/costing and maintenance. Works flexible schedule based on ship port-losing special event requirements, which could require incumbent to work split, day shift or night shift. Circulates among patrons as necessary to assure satisfactory customer service.

BG-09: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One (01) year of progressively responsible clerical OR One (1) year equivalent to at least BG-8, office, or other work which indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
